Moringa Powder: 4 Things Worth Knowing Before You Buy
Share
Moringa powder lines wellness aisles in supermarkets, supplement shops, and online stores. Quality varies wildly. Here are four things worth knowing before you decide which pouch to buy.
1. Single Ingredient or Blend?
Real moringa powder should contain one ingredient: Moringa oleifera leaf. Some products are blends with green tea, matcha, spirulina, or other powders — nothing wrong with blends, but the moringa portion is much smaller than the label suggests. Read the back of the pouch.
2. Color and Smell
Quality moringa leaf powder is vibrant green — almost grassy — with a fresh, slightly sweet smell. Dull khaki color or a stale smell suggests old stock, poor processing, or storage in heat and humidity.
3. How It's Processed
Look for stone-ground, low-heat processed leaf powder. Industrial heat treatments dull the natural plant compounds and can leave the powder tasting flat. Our organic moringa leaf powder is shade-dried and stone-milled in small runs to preserve color, flavor, and nutritional integrity.
4. Source and Traceability
Moringa grows across the tropics, but quality and ethical sourcing vary. Brands that name their growing region (and ideally their producers) are usually more transparent than vague "sourced globally" labels. Our moringa comes from a family plantation in the Caribbean, processed in small batches and bottled in Canada.
How to Use It
1 teaspoon (about 1.5 g) per day stirred into smoothies, yogurt, or warm water with lemon. A 150 g pouch lasts about 3 months at this rate.
